Celebrating Indigenous Excellence at the 40th CCIB Anniversary

The Women Entrepreneurship Knowledge Hub congratulates CCIB (Canadian Council for Indigenous Business) on their 40th anniversary! 

CCIB’s recent 40th Anniversary celebration was held in Toronto at the Westin Harbor Castle on May 28 -29 and was their biggest event to date. Attendees gathered for a glamorous evening celebrating Indigenous fashion at the opening night reception. The business forum offered many insights from the engaging panel discussion and networking opportunities. Later attendees enjoyed Indigenous musical talent at the Live Indigenous Concert, Awards Gala celebrating all five award recipients and a fun filled 80s themed after party.

WEKH's Sr. Advisor, and Co-Lead of the Alberta Hub, Shannon Pestun joined panelists Alicia Dubois, Dave Tuccaro, Scott Patles-Richardson, and Shannon Pestun., on the Finance Disruption: Rethinking Access to Capital. The panel was moderated by Jordan Vandriel, Scotiabank.

Shannon talked about the importance of reimagining what Canada’s financial sector could look like in Canada.

“We have to not only think about Return on Investment, but also return on impact,” said Shannon Pestun.
